Real Madrid’s coach, Zinedine Zidane, has offered support to Gareth Bale to improve his form following the player’s long injury lay-off last season.
The club’s record signing has suffered criticism from the club’s fans this season over his performances in recent matches for the club.
“We want and need him to do more on the pitch, and he does too. But we are calm because he will do it soon”, he said.
Bale last scored for Real Madrid in the club’s first La Liga game against Deportivo La Coruna, on August 26, and has failed to score for the club in his last three games.
The Welsh Winger was whistled by Madrid fans on Wednesday during Madrid’s 3-0 Champions League victory over Apoel Nicosia.
Real Madrid will face in-form Real Sociedad on Sunday, and with Cristiano Ronaldo serving the final match of his five-game suspension and Karim Benzema injured, Zidane added that Bale will give his best in the game.
“He will do his job. Each day he feels better. I said that he has had four months out of the team injured and to return to his level he needs at least four months”.
